Join us in York Minster for the annual Sankta Lucia candlelit service, with carol’s and traditional Swedish songs sung by our visiting Swedish choir.

The service is always a very popular and memorable event and begins with the Minster lights dimmed to allow the choir to process by candlelight.

Sankta Lucia is organised by the York Anglo-Scandinavian Society (YASS) with the support of York Minster and with additional sponsorship.

A collection made at the service is split between the York Anglo-Scandinavian Society and York Minster, with YASS making a donation from this to the CoScan Trust Fund, which provides grants to young people travelling to the Nordic countries.

Seat reservations cannot be made at this point and an announcement will be made to members in due course.
