About The Event
Fresh from a US tour, Norwegian filmmaker Jeanne Bøe is coming to the University of York to screen her new short film, Oxseblod, that centres a farming family in Norway:
A family has toiled, lived, cried, watched the sun rise and rain trickle over fields and meadows for generations. It is a story of vulnerability and tradition. About people and livestock and about surviving side by side with what puts food on the table. The story takes place over a few short summer weeks when the adult daughter Ingrid comes home to the farm, where her father Oscar is struggling to keep the farm going as he gets older.
Join us for the film screening with subtitles, a Q&A, and a sustainability pop-up event with stalls managed by the University of York's Geography Society, Student Co-operative, and Gardening Society, and get hand-ons with the themes of the film.
