About The Event
Stephen Keeler's memoir, '50 Words for Love in Swedish', published in 2021, won The People's Book Prize in 2023.
Described by A L Kennedy as a book about 'the ways we can fall in love with places not our own', and by Anglo-Swedish novelist Marika Cobbold as 'charming and idiosyncratic', it is the story of how a young man from the north-east of England first went to live in Sweden in 1973 and how it changed his life utterly and for ever.
Stephen joined YASS last summer. In his talk he will read short extracts from his book and will happily take questions at the end. He is also happy to sign your copy, if you bring it with you. It can be bought from Archetype Books and on Amazon. There may be a small handful of copies available for sale on the night.
